RYT 200, RYT 500 Carla began practicing yoga regularly in 2005 when Hot House Yoga opened its doors in Virginia Beach. Her son took karate lessons from Chris Yax who stopped teaching to open a yoga studio with his family. She decided to give yoga a try. In 2008 she took the foundations course from the Yax brothers John and Chris. A desire to learn more eventually led her to complete 200 hour, 500 hour and Vinyasa certification from Yax Yoga Concepts teacher training. Carla received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida in 1991. Other than practicing and teaching yoga Carla spends her time raising a daughter and son. She grew up in Northern Virginia but has also lived in Texas, California and Japan with her husband and children. “Yoga helps to quiet the mind. The quieter you become, the more you can hear...”
