A San Francisco Bay Area native, Gillian Eaton (formerly Hurrie) has lived on Cape Cod for 19 years. She has practiced yoga for over 30 years and has taught at CYWC for 14 years. She holds a 200 hour certification through National Yoga Alliance. In addition, she has taken extensive trainings with Boston’s Ame Wren, as well as workshops with Coral Brown, Seane Corn, and Tias Little to name a few. She also holds a certificate from Bodhi and Mind Yoga’s cancer-informed teacher training, which provides free yoga to women in any stage of breast cancer treatment and recovery. She is focused on learning everything about yoga philosophy, alignment and anatomy, and often brings this knowledge to her classes. She encourages students to listen to their bodies while practicing yoga, and encourages the process of finding a fluid, inspirational, intuitive practice. Students love that she knows how to modify for beginners while keeping more advanced students challenged. “Turn away from the constant radio head and self-analysis toward a focused, clearer mind.
